How to Share your Facebook Fan Page with a Like button instead of a Save button

Facebook is one of the best social media tools for sharing your music. However, it comes with a learning curve. Not everything is self explanatory and sometimes you have to do a little digging and make a few mistakes before you become a pro. Take for instance sharing your Music Page on Facebook.  For example, did you know that you have to change some category settings in your about section in order to display your page with a “like” button when sharing your page to a timeline or group feed?  There is a specific category setting you need to switch over to in order to make that change.  Watch this video to see how to do it, or read on below.

Step 1:  Navigate to your fan page and click on the ‘About’ tab. This will take you to your settings under your about section.
Step 2:  Click the edit link on the first section, which is your category section.
Step 3:  Click on the dropdown menu and select ‘People.’
Step 4:  Click on the second dropdown menu in that same section and select Entertainer.
Step 5:  Click save changes to save the selections you just made.

Now you should be able to share your page with the ‘Like’ button displayed instead of the ’Save’ button.

Sharing your Facebook fan page is something we do quite often as musicians. Making sure you share it so that people can like your page with just one click is super important when it comes to gaining fans. This way you will create the least amount of obstacles for fans and potential fans in finding your music.
